"Genel ahlaka, hukuka ve Türk aile yapısına aykırılık" iddiasıyla Lambdaistanbul LGBTT Dayanışma Derneği hakkında açılan davanın "kapatma kararı" ile sonlanması, yasaların uygulanmasında toplumda var olan eşitsizliklerin devreye ne kadar kolay girebildiğine örnek olmuştur. "Genel ahlak" gibi göreceli bir kavramın lezbiyen, gey, biseksüel, travesti ve transseksüel insanların ifade ve örgütlenme özgürlüğü önünde kullanılabilmesi, Anayasa'nın eşitlik maddesine "cinsel yönelim" ve "cinsiyet kimliği" ifadelerinin eklenmesinin ne kadar da hayati olduğunu bir kere daha gözler önüne sermiştir.

Hükümete toplumda var olan eşitsizlikleri giderme konusundaki sorumluluğunu hatırlatıyor ve LGBTT örgütlerinin anayasanın eşitlik maddesine "cinsel yönelim" ve "cinsiyet kimliği" ifadelerinin eklenmesine dair olan taleplerini desteklediğimi açıklıyorum.

It is with sorrow and disappointment that I learned about the Beyoglu court's decision to close Lambdaistanbul LGBT Solidarity Association.

The court's judgment to shut down Lambdaistanbul on the grounds that its aims are ''against general morality, law and the Turkish family structure'' call attention to the ease with which the inequalities present in society can be justified by law. While homosexuality and transsexuality are not illegal in Turkey, the lack of legislation protecting the equal rights of all persons allows discrimination to continue and has prevented the freedom of association and expression for LGBT people.

I respectfully ask you to support the rights of LGBT people in Turkey and throughout the world by supporting Lambdaistanbul as this important case is appealed to the higher court. In addition; I support the demand of Turkish organizations to add the terms "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to the equality article of the Turkish constitution.

C'est avec tristesse et déception que j'ai appris la décision de la cour de justice de Beyoglu de fermer l'association de solidarité LGBT Lambdaistanbul.

Au pretexte que les buts de Lambdaistanbul « vont à l'encontre de la moralité publique, de la loi et des valeurs de la famille », la cour a décidé de fermer l'association. Cela attire l'attention sur le fait que les inégalités présentes dans la société peuvent facilement influencer la loi. L'homosexualité et la transidentité ne sont pas illégales en Turquie. Cependant ce qui contribue à perpétuer la discrimination, c'est le fait que co-existent dans la législation, d'une part de vagues termes tels que « moralité publique », d'autre part un manque de protection de l'égalité des droits pour toutes les personnes quelles que soient leur orientation sexuelle ou leur identité de genre. C'est là ce qui a entravé la liberté d'association et d'expression des personnes LGBT (Lesbiennes, gaies, bies, trans').

Je vous demande de soutenir Lambdaistanbul pendant cet important procès en appel à la cour suprême, et ainsi de défendre les droits des personnes LGBT en Turquie et partout dans le monde. De plus, je me solidarise avec la revendication portée par des organisations Turques de rajouter les termes « orientation sexuelle » et « identitité de genre » dans l'article de la constitution Turqiue sur la garantie de l'égalité.

Die Verwendung eines extrem diffusen Begriffs wie der «allgemeinen Moral» im Hinblick auf die Meinungs- und Organisationsfreiheit von Lesben, Schwulen, Bisexuellen, Transgenderpersonen und Transsexuellen verdeutlicht auch hier, wie dringend der Zusatz der Begriffe «sexuelle Orientierung» und «Geschlechtsidentität» zum Gleichheitsparagraphen der türkischen Verfassung sind.

Mit meiner Unterschrift erinnere ich die türkische Regierung an ihre Verantwortung bei der Beseitigung von gesellschaftlichen Ungleichheiten und unterstütze LSBTT-Vereine und -Organisationen in ihrem Bestreben, eine Aufnahme der Begriffe «sexuelle Orientierung» und «Geschlechtsidentität» in den Gleichheitsparagraphen der Verfassung zu erwirken.
